Video of the moment of the Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Kursk
Ten days after the Ukrainian ground incursion into the Russian border region of Kursk, the Ukrainian General Staff published, on Friday, a video documenting the first hours of the Ukrainian military operation that began on August 6.
“Unique footage of the first hours of the Ukrainian Defense Forces operation in the Kursk region,” he wrote in the minute-and-a-half video posted on the X platform. The video also shows Ukrainian soldiers clearing mines and penetrating the destruction of Russian defensive lines.
The clip also documents the work of Ukrainian aviation and artillery in Kursk, and shows the arrest of a number of prisoners by Ukrainian soldiers in the border area. Ukraine confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that its forces participating in the attack on Kursk Province were able to control the city, 82 villages and more than a thousand square kilometers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also announced that his forces took complete control of the Russian city of Sodja. The commander of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Sirsky, announced the establishment of a military administration in the Russian Kursk region, indicating Ukraine's intention to strengthen its presence in the areas it controlled in Russia.
