Why do we feel lost...?
Have you ever felt like you're standing at a train station, watching all the trains pass by, but you have no idea which one to get on? You don’t know where you’re going, or even if you’re on the right track.
"Welcome to the first article of the Fadfada series."
Today, we’re going to talk about that lost feeling most of us go through at some point in our lives.
Why do we feel like we don’t know where we’re headed? And how do we deal with that?
💭 Why do we feel lost?
1. Social pressure and expectations
Since we were kids, society laid out a certain path for us:
"Go to a good school, study hard, get into a top university, get a job, get married."
But no one ever stopped to ask:
“What do you really want?”
And on top of that, we’re constantly comparing ourselves to others:
Look how successful he is.
Did you see how high her grades were?
He’s married already and you're still single.
She started her own business — what have you done?
But the truth is... you're still figuring out who you are.
2. Fear of failure
Many times, we’re not actually lost — we’re just scared.
Scared to make the wrong choice.
So, we stand still, afraid to take any step that we might regret later.
But the truth is: trial and error is part of the journey.
Making mistakes helps us understand ourselves better.
So take the risk. Try. Even if you fail, try again and again — until you make it.
Just make sure it’s something you truly want.
3. Lack of passion or self-awareness
Some people are lucky — they discover their passion early in life.
But most of us need to try different things just to figure out who we are.
So ask yourself the important questions:
What do I love?
What makes me feel truly happy when I’m doing it?
4. Pressure and distractions
Technology made our lives faster.
Every day, a thousand things are happening, and that makes us feel like we’re falling behind if we don’t accomplish something big — right now.
But here’s the solution:
Slow down.
Focus on small steps instead of trying to do everything at once.
The world isn’t going anywhere.
🧭 So… How do we deal with this lost feeling?
Try new things.
If you’re not sure what you like, explore whatever you feel even slightly drawn to.
Take online courses.
Travel.
Meet new people.
Try a new sport or hobby.
And most importantly:
Accept that you don’t need to have all the answers right now.
Life is a journey — some people know exactly what they want, and some are still figuring it out.
Every stage has its own path.
Focus on yourself, not on “them”.
Comparisons will never end, and people will always have something to say.
But you're the only one who can decide what’s right for you.
“People’s opinions won’t make or break your future.”
Start with just one small step.
Don’t stress about your whole life — just think about this month.
Or even simpler: think about today.
Ask yourself:
What can I do today?
Then go do it.
📝 Final words:
At the end of the day, feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re a failure or that you’re not good enough.
We’ve all been there — no exception.
The important thing is to start — in any direction — instead of standing still.
