After a tough pandemic era, Beyoncé is releasing a new album
Beyoncé officially released her seventh studio album, Renaissance, on Friday, July 29. The album features a different dance side than the previous album, Lemonade (2016).
It seems that Break My Soul, extracted from the lead single, was a teaser for the Renaissance album. While the other 15 tracks also carry a kind of thick dance.
On this album, Beyoncé invited several musicians as collaborators such as BEAM, Grace Jones, and Tems.
The lyrics focus themselves a lot with confidence in identity. Breaking my soul and cozy personal relationships are like plastic off the couch and a virgin groove.
Speaking about her new album, Beyoncé revealed that this album symbolizes her re-emergence after going through the difficult Covid-19 pandemic.
"I think we're all ready to go and take a vacation and love and laugh again. There's a comeback and I want to be a part of nurturing this escape in any way I can," Beyoncé said, citing Harper's Bazaar.
“There is nothing better than love, which is a passion I make in the recording studio. After 31 years, it still feels like my first 9-year-old recording,” he explained.
The album was leaked online a few hours before its release. Beyoncé also released a statement to fans who are waiting for her album to be released as scheduled.
"The album was leaked but you guys waited for the time to actually be released so you could enjoy it together. I've never seen it this way. Thank you for your love and care."
The good news is that the Renaissance has become a three-part project and this is still the first part. Jay-Z's wife revealed that the footage took place over a period of three years.
"Making this album gave me a place to dream and leave in the midst of a time creepy by the world. I feel so free and adventurous," wrote Beyoncé.
Beyoncé's album Renaissance can be streamed starting today, Friday, July 29th.
