An overview

     Throughout the ages, Palestine has remained a country full of prosperity witnessed and documented by the antiquities spread throughout its various parts. Palestine is inhabited by many villages, towns, and cities, the most famous of which are: Jerusalem, Tell Al-Rabea, Safed, Haifa, Bisan, Akka, Nablus, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Caesarea, Ram Allah, Al-Bireh, Lod, Ramla, Jaffa, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gaza, Khan Yunis, Rafah, and Beersheba

The most important cities of Palestine

 “ Jerusalem” Al-Quds  

        It is called "Bayt Al-Maqdis" and "Ilia". It is the political, cultural, and economic capital of Palestine and the center of the world's eyes due to it's Islamic and Christian sanctities. It contains The l-Aqsa Mosque, which is the first of the two qiblahs and the third of the Two Holy Mosques, The Dome of the Rock, and The Church of the Holy Sepulcher

        Urbanization in Jerusalem extended to the city of Ramallah in the north, and the city of Bethlehem in the south. Jerusalem is located in the heart of the mountains of central Palestine and the heart of all of Palestine. Since ancient times, it has been the main transportation center in Palestine, in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan Valley. And north and south of Palestine, Jerusalem is linked by this location to all the cities of Palestine, such as Nazareth, Haifa, Nablus, Jaffa, Ramleh, Hebron, Beersheba, Gaza, Jericho, and Bisan

          It was built by the Arab Jebusites five thousand years ago in this privileged location, and since that time it has been the capital of Palestine throughout the ages. The Muslims conquered it and the just caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab took over it in the fifteenth year of the Hijra and gave its people the lifetime custody , which is considered an example of justice and religious and human tolerance. All Muslim caliphs and sultans, such as Abd Al-Malik Ibn Marwan, Al-Walid bin Abd Al-Malik, Al-Khalifa Al-Ma'mun, Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi, and Suleiman the Ottoman Magnificent, cared about Jerusalem and its reconstruction

Haifa

        It is called the "Bride of Carmel", and it is located on the Mediterranean Sea and is considered the most important part of Palestine. It is located on the southern tip of  Akka-Haifa Bay. A large part of it was built on Mount Carmel, and it has a large industrial area

Jaffa

         It is called" The Bride of the Sea", and it is located in the middle of the Palestinian coast between Haifa and Gaza, south of the mouth of The Auja River. Surrounded by fertile plains, it is an ancient Canaanite City that is more than five thousand years old and has always been an important port for the central regions of Palestine, especially for Al-Quds Al-Sharif

       It was famous for orange orchards, and Jaffa gave its name to the most famous types of oranges in the world. It was also famous for textile, soap, and metal casting and manufacturing industries. Jaffa played a prominent role as a civilized and cultural center, and the leading Palestinian newspapers, such as "Palestine" and  "Al Difaa", were published thereHebron

        It is located south of the city of Bethlehem, and it is an ancient historical city, and it contains the Ibrahimi Mosque . It is famous for several industries such as vegetable canning, shoe factories, leather, fiber, ceramics, and glass. The city of Hebron is considered the main commercial center for all of The Hebron Hills region, and it is also a religious, cultural, and administrative center

Bethlehem

       It is located south of the city of Jerusalem, and it contains The Church of the Nativity, where Christ, peace be upon him, was born. It is famous for tourism industries such as making antiques, shells, and embroidery

        Given it's distinguished religious and historical importance and its proximity to the city of Jerusalem, Bethlehem developed as an important tourist center, and the importance of its location in the middle of The Hebron Mountains had the greatest impact on it's growth and prosperity

Nazareth

      It is located between Tiberias and Haifa, and it is a holy city for Christians and contains the Church of the Annunciation, and Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, lived in it,  grape and olive trees abound around it

Nablus

      It is located north of Jerusalem, between Mount Ebal and Gerizim, and It is famous for making soap and sweets. It is the administrative, cultural and economic center of the Nablus Mountains region; This led to it's prosperity and urban expansion in all directions, especially towards the east and west

Gaza

      The largest and most important city in southern Palestine for thousands of years until today,  It has always been an important center on the transportation and trade routes between Palestine and Egypt and between the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, and the Arabian Peninsula. It is also the cultural and administrative center for the southern region of Palestine. Gaza is famous for the cultivation of vegetables, citrus fruits, and flowers, and it is in it that Imam Al-Shafi'i was born, and it has the tomb of Hashem bin Abd Manaf, and therefore it was called Gaza Hashem

Safed

        A mountainous city located in the east of The Galilee Mountains, it is distinguished by the quality of its climate and It is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. There are also natural oak and oak forests in the mountains and surrounding areas, especially the forests of Jabal Al-Jarmaq and Sa'sa' . Safed was throughout its history a thriving city and an important administrative center in northern Palestine

    Beersheba

       It is located in southern Palestine , It is the key to the Negev and it's main center. For thousands of years, it has been an important station on the roads between Palestine and Egypt on the one hand, and Palestine and the Arabian Peninsula on the other. And under its central location in the northern Negev; Surrounded by dozens of Bedouin villages; It formed an active center for the trade of animal products, grains, and fodder

Jericho

       It is located north of the Dead Sea and It is considered the wintering ground of Palestine. It is surrounded by ancient ruins such as "Tell al-Sultan" and "Hisham's Palace". It is famous for growing vegetables, citrus fruits, and bananas. It is the oldest city in the world, more than ten thousand years old. It turned into an active tourist center; Because of the importance of the archaeological and historical sites in it, the beauty of its scenery, and the warmth of its weather in winter
